Dry Goods Sharing | The Ultimate Guide to Finding Fabrics and Accessories in China Guangzhou Zhongda Market

Essential knowledge for apparel professionals about the fabric and accessory market:

1. International Textile City

1. B1 Floor: Mainly sells accessories, including various buttons, patches, heat transfer prints, hot-fix rhinestones, hardware, zippers, lace, webbing, etc.

2. 1st Floor Areas A, B, C, F: Specializes in knitted fabrics, solid colors, printed fabrics, and trench coat fabrics.

3. 2nd, 3rd, 4th Floors: Primarily sells high-end fabrics, niche brand fabrics, designer fabrics, original fabrics, and imported fabrics. If you can’t find suitable fabrics on the first floor, it might be worth checking upstairs; you might discover something valuable.

4. E Area and Jiuzhou Areas A/B: Focuses mainly on linen products.

2. Old Yangtze Accessory City

1. 1st Floor: Sells webbing, elastic bands, various ropes, hook-and-loop fasteners, hardware, etc. The products are generally similar to those in the Textile City but at more affordable prices.

2. 2nd Floor: Primarily sells various jewelry accessories, chains, etc.

3. Ruikang Lace World

1st Floor: Gathers various lace, hardware fasteners, cords, and wheat heads.

Notes:

When purchasing fabrics in Zhongda Market, in addition to asking about prices, be sure to clarify the issue of weight variance. For knitted fabrics sold by the kilogram, inquire about the weight variance and the weight of the paper tube. For example, if the weight variance is 1 kilogram and the paper tube is 0.5 kilograms, then a roll of fabric marked as 26 kilograms would actually weigh 26 kilograms minus 1 kilogram minus 0.5 kilograms, which equals 24.5 kilograms. For woven fabrics, ask whether a roll of fabric has a weight variance and what it is. For instance, a variance of 96 means that 100 meters actually amounts to about 96 meters.

Don’t focus solely on prices; the market is very transparent today. If a vendor tells you that a certain fabric is out of stock, it’s likely not worth checking with other vendors, as they probably don’t have it in stock either, and even if they do, there may be limited inventory left. In such cases, it’s best to prepare alternative fabrics in advance.
