Does more stretch mean more spandex or lycra?
Before we start to share this we have to review the last blog we posted named What is the Stretch Fabric? https://www.chmtextile.com/post/discover-the-ultimate-comfort-what-is-4-way-stretch-fabric
If you ask me if spandex fabric is stretchy? it is the same as asking "Is the moon round?"
This Spandex fabric or we call stretch, which can stretch up to 5-8 times its standard size, is regularly used in form-fitting consumer textiles. After being stretched frequently and compressed by more than 500%, the spandex fibers revert to their starting length.
Millions of stretch yoga leggings, high-performance sportswear, shiny swimwear, sexy bikinis, underwear, and countless other items of daily clothing are made possible by spandex's ability to stretch.
Let me share some advantages that bring from the spandex fabric."My tummy is tucked in, my derriere has been raised, and my "gals" are facing north (even if they started to go the other way) because of the spandex." It has given me the confidence to show off, even when I feel more like an inflated marshmallow from a microwave than a gorgeous middle-aged mom. I think there is a lot of ladies' hope no matter how old they are they can keep young.
The world first learned about spandex, an amazing synthetic fabric with incredibly elastic strands that could hide a myriad of human failings, in the late 1950s. Since then, spandex fibers are mixed with all other fibers during the textile manufacturing process, regardless of the fiber's value.
The more spandex fibers mean high stretch.
For Example, The fabric is typically labeled 95% polyester, and 5% spandex. This indicates that 5% of the fabric is made up of spandex fibers. This fabric will have a moderate amount of stretch. The cloth will be extremely stretchable if there are more than 10% spandex fibers.
For some usage occasions, the stretch fabric is the best choice for sport/yoga/swimming/running
